Bottles and Cans for Redemption

Cans and bottles for redemption are not collected at the parish itself. We have partnered with Torrington Redemption Center and we encourage you to bring your redeemables to their facility following the instructions below. The parish receives a percentage of your redemptions.
Bottles and Cans for Redemption (Metal, Plastic, Glass)
Every Friday (9:00am – 4:00pm)
- All “CT 10¢” deposit beverage containers are accepted.
- Every Friday we will deploy our staff to explain the redemption process and accept the empties from SJPGP.
- Due to security reasons, after-hours drop offs are prohibited and will be considered a violation.
Minimum Acceptance Criteria:
- Containers should be empty, dry and in their original condition.
Plastic Bottles – water, soda and juice must be separated
- 12-16 oz., Regular Water – up to 100 bottles per bag
- 12-16 oz., Soda/Juice/Vitamin water – up to 100 bottles per bag
- 1-liter, up to 60 bottles per bag
- 2-liter, up to 40 bottles per bag
- No milk containers or plastic larger than 2-liter accepted
Metal Cans – alcohol and non-alcoholic must be separated
- Up to 200 cans per bag
- Do not crush cans.
Important: We do NOT accept loose glass bottles or six packs. Glass bottles should be in 12 or 24 quantity box only and same brand should be in the box. You may visit local package stores for the boxes.
Please mark bags/boxes as SJPGP.
